3. Reasons to celebrate
2 things to work on
1 big question to ponder
- I have gotten much better at writing and putting my thoughts down on paper an example being my artifact six that I wrote in Matt’s class. The reason i would choose this is because i believe that it is my best writing piece from this year. And in previous years i have not felt confident enough in my writing to finish it or turn it in.
- I have gotten much better at art this year. This year was the first time i have had an art piece being exhibited to the public and at first it was kind of rattling to think about that but in hindsight I feel that it was a very enriching positive experience.
- Working and holding a job at jbos. While working at j’bos I have been getting better at interacting with people and getting things done even if I am not interested or don't like the thing I’m doing. While working at jbos I have learned how to interact with customers and my coworkers in a positive manner even if I do not like them or am not having a good day.
2 things to work on
- Self motivation. I have never really been good at self motivation to get things done or make them as good as they can be. This has affected me this year in many ways. One of the most prominent way this has affected me is my grades.
- Working and interacting with people. I have a very hard time working well with other people. I don't feel comfortable working with people I don't know very well and I attribute this to myself not being comfortable opening up to people. I also have a hard time because when I disagree with people my first instinct is to dig in my heels and hold on to my opinion and not compromise on anything.
1 big question to ponder
- Who Am I?
Silence
By Drew Papineau
Authors note: This piece is based off of the tension individuality vs. society. This tension is shown many
See as we go through life
The sun rises
But not for them
Because their lives are lies in disguise
Everyday their numbers rising as lives of deceased
The misconception of two hands meeting four eyes
But I prophesize that those are lies
These false lives walk among us
Only really wanting one fully functional hug
And help just spreading the love
But reminiscing of the past
Can open up a new path
So turn off the fear
Because the future is near
NO
Alright the future is hear
We were given one mouth and two ears
Ears so solemnly used
So take a moment to listen
Listen to all the cries and screaming
But most of all listen to the silence
Silence of all the things left unsaid
All the words rattling around in people’s heads
Trying to escape
We all can relate
There’s too much injustice
Turned into violence
All the hatred outspoken
We need a few moments of silence
To listen to the cry of society
A request
A request from the north, south, east, and west
A request for ten fingers
Sacrificed down to two
a cry for peace
This world
Our world
It shares our perception
Just one word
One word to make the terrors go away
Peace
If peace was a reality
People would gain back their sanity
And when you listen
All you would hear
Silence
